We have two children ages 20 and 16. Both of our children attended preschool here and we have been very blessed by the preschool ministry. Both the preschool staff and the church staff and families are very friendly and welcoming. When we are vacationing we enjoy the mountains or a relaxing day at the beach. We value our precious family times when we can all get together. I love to bake, try new recipes, walk, swim, gardening and making simple crafts. I have had the blessing of being with The Neighborhood Preschool since 2000. I have worked in various roles as a teacher here. I have also had the privilege of serving as a Director in the past, at my home church, back in Iowa. I am blessed to be a part of many families’ lives and seek to encourage and build up each family that we serve, daily. I came to Christ at a young age, and daily try to recognize each small mercy as a reminder of God’s great care. The Bible passage that encourages me is Matthew:28-30 (So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?) About my family … I live with my husband, two children (sort of), aged 19 and 16, 2 cats, and 1 dog. As a family, we share the love of music - both listening and playing. Life is busy, and when I'm not at school I spend lots of time in the car. If not chauffeuring, I might be found doing something crafty or reading a book. My preschool experience … I have been with Neighborhood Preschool since 2006. I taught in the 2’s and 3’s for 6 years, then moved to the VPK class. After 5 years in VPK, I had the opportunity to come back to my beginning - the 2’s and 3’s. No matter the age, I love watching the personalities that develop, and all of the learning that happens in these years. My parents raised us in a Christian home and I accepted Christ as my Savior at the age of 5. I was homeschooled K-12th grade. My family started to attend Neighborhood Alliance Church in 1996. After high school I became a nanny. I worked for one family for 4 years and another family for about a year. I have been working at The Neighborhood Preschool since 2012 as the Aftercare teacher. I also worked as a teacher's assistant in the two-year-old class for a year and the three-year-old class for two years. In 2017, I became the lead teacher of the three-year-old class. Taking care of young children is my passion. I started volunteering in the nursery and Vacation Bible School at church in middle school. I also volunteered at The Neighborhood Preschool once a week for several years in middle school and high school. I worked as an AWANA Cubbies leader after high school and I am currently volunteering for the Kids Wednesday Night program at church as well the Kids Sunday School program.
